Lauren Watters joined AbleChildAfrica as Programme and Partnership Manager in November 2014. After completing her MA in Development Studies at the University of East Anglia, Lauren worked as an International Development Research Portfolio Manager for the Economic and Social Council (ESRC) where she gained experience of project supervision and grants management.
Lauren is also the Co-founder and Co-director of FACE Uganda, a small NGO working towards the empowerment of women in rural Uganda. Lauren has also spent some time working in the East of Ghana volunteering for the Volta Aid Foundation, a community based development organisation. In her spare time Lauren volunteers with the Woodcraft Folk, an inclusive youth group organisation, and enjoys running and yoga.
Lauren has a passion for supporting African lead development and working with children. She is currently supporting AbleChildAfrica to grow their UK operations, as well as building the capacity of our African Partners and supporting them to deliver projects in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
