Jenny Bowie joins AbleChildAfrica as Programmes and Advocacy Officer in June 2015.
She joins AbleChildAfrica from Bond, the UK membership body for international development, where she has supported the development sector to influence the UK government in key areas such as the 0.7% International Development Bill and Post-2015 agenda, through the action/2015 campaign.
She graduated from University of Birmingham in 2011 with a BA in African Studies and Politics. Following University Jenny volunteered as an English Teacher in Dodoma, Tanzania. Prior to Bond Jenny worked for Teach A Man To Fish to support schools to start student-led businesses, both from their UK office and from Uganda.
Jenny is passionate about working in partnership to bring about change for the most marginalized children and young people and will be working with our partners to advocate for rights and needs of disabled children in Africa. In her spare time Jenny enjoys going to see live music, debating politics and travelling to sunnier places.
