Kate Turner

Kate joined the Board of Trustees of AbleChildAfrica in July 2016 after returning from working in Rwanda for two and half years at the National Union of Disabilities’ Organisations of Rwanda (NUDOR) as a VSO volunteer. Kate worked to strengthen the advocacy capacity of NUDOR to better advocate for persons with disabilities and for full inclusion in all areas of society. Kate advocated for the full implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and focused on laws and policies in education, health and poverty reduction and how to improve data collection.

Previously Kate worked in London and New York in a number of roles in public affairs, public policy and government relations, including four years at Sport England as Senior Public Affairs Manager.

In September 1016, she will start a full time MA in Human Rights Law at SOAS, University of London.
