Richard Poole

Programmes Officer

Richard graduated from Manchester University in 2012 with a social science degree in Politics & International Relations, developing his interest and knowledge in the areas of development practice and global governance.

Prior to joining AbleChildAfrica in May 2017, Richard worked for International Service, a human rights charity seeking to empower marginalised groups including women, young people and people with disabilities. He has held several overseas roles in Burkina Faso, the occupied Palestinian territories, as well as managing a DFID youth development programme in Ghana, all with aspects of disability-related programming.

He is passionate about language learning (including local languages), music, and is a previous British Champion Latin American & Ballroom dancer (just like off Strictly Come Dancing).
