Earlier this month, the Director for Department for International Development (DFID) Kenya along with Members of Parliament from the International Development Parliamentary Committee visited our partner school in Kenya, Little Rock, to see our amazing work in action!
The Little Rock team were honoured to welcome DFID Kenya’s Director, Mr Pete Vowles along with members of the International Development Parliamentary Committee: Pauline Latham OBE, Dr Lisa Cameron MP and Mr Nigel Evans MP – MP for Mid Derbyshire, MP for East Kilbride, Strathaven and Lesmahagow and MP for Ribble Valley respectively.
The group of UK MPs were in Nairobi to visit the DFID Kenya office, but were able to take the time to visit projects in the area, such as Little Rock ECD Centre. The team at Little Rock were thrilled that AbleChildAfrica were able to facilitate this visit.
Throughout the day, the group of esteemed visitors were given a tour of the school grounds, spoke personally with the Director and Founder of Little Rock, Lilly Oyare, met some of the Little Rock teachers and, most importantly, some of Little Rock’s pupils and recent graduates.
We’re so proud to see Little Rock getting the recognition they deserve and are excited and hopeful that more visits like this one will take place in the future.
